Both versions shipped on September 22, 2026 and both are on sale now — once for Switch, once for Switch 2. The Switch listing still states plainly that its build also runs on Switch 2, so the second listing is a convenience rather than an upgrade. The only thing that has changed since launch is the price: the two entries no longer cost the same.

The two eShop listings
Switch versus Switch 2, as listed
Both entries are on sale now, not on pre-order. Prices were read from the US eShop on October 30, 2026 and eShop prices move with promotions, so confirm on the listing before you buy. Everything else about the two products is still nearly identical.

Nintendo’s own Switch 2 verdict
The Switch listing carries a Switch 2 Compatibility Information panel that reads "Supported — Game behavior is consistent with Nintendo Switch." In plain terms: the Switch build runs on Switch 2 with no reported behavioural difference, and Nintendo is not marketing an enhanced Switch 2 version — no frame-rate claim, no resolution claim, no mouse-control claim. This site found no Nintendo or Lazy Bear statement describing performance on either system.
Updates on Switch: how far behind PC the console builds run
Both Nintendo versions have taken two post-launch patches, and each carried the same version number as the PC build when it shipped. tinyBuild says console fixes will keep trailing PC by design.
Patch 1.010.1 reached Switch 1 and Switch 2 on October 21, 2026
tinyBuild’s official patch-notes page lists "21/10/2026 - Patch 1.010.1 [Nintendo Switch 1&2]" under the same version number as the PC release. It fixes banner placement in Central Districts Purge: Part II, the missing NPC Jack at the Twins’ land near the boat during the Village Boat event, the glitched door to the Doctor’s basement, the Astrologer missing from a story scene, and a batch of further crash and soft-lock fixes.
PC has moved on to Update 1.011; no Switch entry lists it yet
The official Steam changelog advanced to Update 1.011 on October 30, 2026, while the newest console entry on tinyBuild’s patch-notes page is still 1.010.1 from October 21, 2026. Console patches have trailed PC by days rather than arriving alongside it, so this page does not assert that Switch 1 or Switch 2 has received 1.011 — check the version your own console reports.
Update 1.007 landed on Switch on October 14, 2026
Players reported the 1.007 update arriving on both Switch builds a week before 1.010.1, which is consistent with the PC version number sequence rather than a separate console build. That report is player-sourced; the patch-notes page itself only archives the entries it lists.
Console patches are late on purpose, not abandoned
The support page says the studio is "actively working on bringing these fixes to console platforms as quickly as possible". Read plainly: PC gets a fix first, then the console versions follow once the build clears platform checks. The Switch versions are current, just not simultaneous with Steam.
Performance: what is and is not published
Frame rate and resolution are the two things people search for on a Switch page, and neither is published anywhere for this game — launch has not changed that.
Not published: frame rate
No Nintendo listing, press release or developer statement names a target frame rate on Switch or Switch 2. Any figure you see quoted is a guess, including anything posted after the September 22 launch.
Not published: resolution
Docked and handheld resolutions are likewise unpublished. Nintendo lists only the play modes the game supports, not what it renders at in each.
Published: file size
Under a gigabyte on both systems — 792 MB on Switch, 780 MB on Switch 2. For a management sim with a 3D world this is small enough that a microSD card is largely optional.
Published: modes and accessories
All three play modes are supported, and the Switch entry lists the touch screen as a supported accessory feature. Pro Controller support is not separately listed.
Extra facts from the Switch 2 listing
The September 17 Nintendo extract adds save-data and storefront caveats that are easy to miss when comparing only price and file size. Those caveats still hold now that both versions are on sale.
The publisher sells a management loop, not an online mode
Nintendo describes the job as managing a graveyard, harvesting flora, fauna and human remains, building machinery, automating production, restoring the Town and leading an undead army. That description does not add multiplayer to the single-system listing.
Save data is compatible between the two Nintendo versions
The listing explicitly says save data is compatible between the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 versions. That establishes transfer compatibility between those two products; it does not establish cross-save with PC or PlayStation.
Cloud backup has a membership requirement
Nintendo says a Nintendo Switch Online membership, sold separately, is required for Save Data Cloud backup. The note concerns backup, not online multiplayer, and the listing still reports a single system.
The storefront lists American English
The supplied Switch 2 entry lists American English under supported languages. It also lists family-group lending as supported and gives an estimated 780 MB download size.
Save data and cross-buy
Two separate products means two separate purchases, which is the part worth knowing before you buy.
The Switch and Switch 2 versions are sold as distinct eShop products. There is no bundled cross-buy listing that grants both from one purchase.
Nintendo Account family-group lending is listed as supported, so the purchase can be lent within a family group under Nintendo’s usual terms.
Nintendo explicitly says save data is compatible between the Switch and Switch 2 versions. Separately, it says a Nintendo Switch Online membership is required for Save Data Cloud backup. The membership note concerns backup, not online multiplayer, and the two products remain separate purchases.
No cross-save with PC or PlayStation is announced. The demo’s save transfer applies to carrying a Steam demo save into the Steam full game, not across platforms.
Where these facts come from
Every entry below is labelled by what it is: a developer or publisher source, a platform store listing, a press report, a video, or a fan-maintained page. Fan pages are used for terminology, and where one is the only record of a number, that number is written as community wiki data, unconfirmed, with the date it was last checked.
Store listingNintendo eShop US — Graveyard Keeper 2 (Switch) — Read 2026-09-16, re-read 2026-10-30. On sale now: released 9/22/26 and listed at $24.99 USD on 2026-10-30, with the $19.99 pre-order discount having ended at launch; 792 MB, single system, TV/tabletop/handheld, ESRB Teen. Carries the Switch 2 compatibility verdict "Supported – Game behavior is consistent with Nintendo Switch". Tagged Action, Simulation, Pixel art and Voiced characters.
Store listingNintendo eShop US — Graveyard Keeper 2 (Switch 2) — A second, separate eShop entry for Switch 2, released 9/22/26; 780 MB. Re-read 2026-10-30: the product data listed $22.49 USD while the page also shows a $29.99 regular price, so treat that figure as a promotional price that can change. Nintendo asserts no enhanced-feature tier for it, so the two SKUs are documented here as one build sold twice.
Store listingNintendo eShop US — Graveyard Keeper 2 Pre-Order Bonus — The pre-order bonus is distributed as its own eShop product on Nintendo, released 9/22/26. This is the same sauna-and-outfit bundle described in full on the PlayStation listing.
OfficialtinyBuild Support — Graveyard Keeper 2 patch notes — Read 2026-10-30. Running archive of every patch across all versions. Lists "21/10/2026 - Patch 1.010.1 [Nintendo Switch 1&2]" with the same version number as the PC build, and states that the studio is "actively working on bringing these fixes to console platforms as quickly as possible" — the publisher’s own confirmation that console patches trail PC.
Store listingGraveyard Keeper 2 on Steam (app 4358690) — The most detailed platform listing: 11 interface languages, single-player only, full controller support with DualShock and DualSense entries, Steam Cloud, Achievements, Family Sharing, and the Windows minimum and recommended specifications.
OfficialSteam News — Graveyard Keeper 2: “Update 1.011 is live” changelog — Lazy Bear’s own changelog, posted to the Steam Community Announcements on 2026-10-30 and read on 2026-10-31. The first patch since launch to let zombie-assistants run autocrafts: at Furnaces and Kilns in the Yard, the Kitchen Oven in the Home, the Compost Pile in the Garden, Cider and Wine production in the Vineyard Basement and the Distillation Cube in the Alchemy Lab. A finished craft pays tech-points, starting one still requires mastery, and no rate, yield or threshold is published. The same patch has Quarry zombie-workers carrying Stone and Marble to the chests themselves, so a Quarry no longer needs an assistant, and lets zombies be cremated without naming a station, a cost or a condition. It also adds moveable objects in build mode, widescreen (ultrawide) resolution support, a total-output line for the whole crafting queue, an in-game mod menu with BepInEx shipped alongside the game, and a warning that the update could affect existing mods. Questions
Switch questions
Is Graveyard Keeper 2 on Switch?
Yes. It shipped on both Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 on September 22, 2026 as two separate digital listings, and both are on sale now. On October 30, 2026 the US eShop showed $24.99 for the Switch version and $22.49 for the Switch 2 version; the Switch 2 figure looked like a promotion against a $29.99 regular price, and eShop prices change, so treat both as a snapshot. Save data is compatible between the two Nintendo versions.
Should I buy the Switch version or the Switch 2 version?
The listings describe the same game, and Nintendo states the Switch version behaves consistently on Switch 2. The one concrete difference is price: on October 30, 2026 the Switch 2 listing was $2.50 cheaper, apparently as a promotion. Nothing published distinguishes them on performance, so if you own both consoles the Switch build is the one Nintendo explicitly confirms runs on either.
Does the Switch version run on Switch 2?
Yes. The Switch eShop page carries the compatibility line "Supported — Game behavior is consistent with Nintendo Switch", which is Nintendo’s statement that the game plays on Switch 2 hardware.
Are the Switch versions getting the updates?
Yes. Patch 1.010.1 shipped to Switch 1 and Switch 2 on October 21, 2026 with the same version number as the PC build, and update 1.007 arrived on October 14. tinyBuild’s support page says it is actively working to bring fixes to console platforms as quickly as possible, so expect console patches to trail PC by days rather than to be dropped entirely.
How big is Graveyard Keeper 2 on Switch?
792 MB on Switch and 780 MB on Switch 2, per the two eShop listings. Neither figure includes post-launch patches.
Is there a Switch demo?
Not listed. Nintendo’s eShop shows no demo product for either entry. The demo this site can verify is the Steam one, released September 14, 2026.
Is Graveyard Keeper 2 on Switch physical?
The eShop listing describes the edition as "Digital" for both entries. No physical release is announced on Nintendo’s US store.
